Coraline video game news
Coraline is scheduled to be released for the Wii, DS, and Playstation 2 January 27. The game was developed by Papaya Studios, and will be released by D3Publisher. CBR News scored an interview with Jonathon Han, Producer at Papaya Studio. The interview is mostly filled with meaningless platitudes, but here are the few relevant bits:
Gameplay will be "adventure/exploration" and feature various minigames.
Han cited Papaya's experience working on the games "Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey" and "George of the Jungle: The Search for the Secret" as giving the company a "very strong foundation in understanding how to create a game that kids will enjoy playing over and over."
Unfortunately, IGN called Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey "nothing more than an attempt by Disney to grab more money from parents who want to keep their kids entertained for a couple of hours," and described George of the Jungle: The Search for the Secret as "clunky, buggy, and tedious."
You can read the entire interview here. And, in case you're interested, you can preorder the game for a few dollars off at Amazon.
