Faces on Coraline toys very different from promotional image

The promotional image for the Coraline dolls looks like this:

But a Flickr user ordered the figures and here's what she got:

Dramatically different facial expressions. You can order the toys at Amazon.

UPDATE: The faces are swappable and the eyes can be repositioned.

  2. I'm pissed because I ordered the Style A (striped sweater doll) based on the expression in the promo pic and I DO NOT LIKE the actual doll that I'll be receiving!

  5. The promotional images are stills of the Coraline puppets used in the film. The actual product looks good though! I'm totally getting one. . .or three.

  6. Well i'm going to try to get 2, but i'm kind of running low on cash, so i will probably get the P.J.'s one, but maybe if i work extra hard i will get the striped sweater one too! But i'm not getting the raincoat one. The face looks too creepy.

  10. The dolls are 7" and a few ebay sellers have them available...

  11. I am pretty sure all the ebay sellers only pre-ordered them, and havent gotten them yet because all the pics are of the prototypes, not the actual dolls. Strange.......

  21. I got 3 from Amazon, They sent the craziest, most painful expressions, of course. Since there is no way to be sure of the expression you are buying, I don't suggest buying them online. Unless the store specifically states that you will get the expression pictured.

  22. I might get one of these dolls with money that I saved.I was at first disappointed with the promo pics, but now I'm over it and I think that the raincoat Coraline is quite adorable because it shows her personality of how clever she is.You can get these dolls at Toys R Us.com if your interested in these kind of dolls. Also Toys r Us should eventually have these dolls actually in their stores.I will fix up my Coraline with paint, volks hair, nail polish, and other materials to make her shine! I loved this flick and I saw it with my BFF on V-Day.I can really relate to Coraline because I have a personality like her and I'm the same age as her.I feel bad bad for the people who wanted the actual dolls in the promo pic,but they probably won't be so bad once get used to them. For all those Coraline doll lovers,I hope this helps!
